October 2015 – 9 Days
The team at SBS completed a unique installation at a home in Wath upon Dearne, Rotherham, for the BBC as part of the TV show DIY SOS.
The job required a team of two pitched roofers, two flat roofers and two labourers to install pitched and flat roofing to a new extension, including the new electrical opening roof light. The pitched roofing was installed using Sandcroft materials, the roofline and rainwater good with swish, and the flat roof was Icopal felts. The team also assisted all the other trades on-site throughout the nine-day project.
As expected with involvement in a show such as DIY SOS, a huge amount of work was required in a short space of time. The team therefore worked extended hours to complete on time within a tight deadline and ensured follow on trades were not held up. As a local company, with an office in nearby Sheffield, the team were very moved by the family’s story and were more than happy to help. Both the BBC and the homeowner were very impressed and grateful SBS were able to supply all labour and materials free of charge.
